These beads are made out of the highly resilient borosilicate glass, the same kind scientists use. The blue-purple colors are created by the silver that is contained inside the class. These colors are brought out by a process called "striking and reduction". Striking is when the artist allows the glass to cool and then reheats it. This causes the color change in certain glasses. Reduction is when the artist bathes the glass in a gas rich flame. This brings the silver to the surface, bringing out blue highlights Each bead has a vibrant flare of diffent colors. Each of these beads is unique.
